ODIM 2026 – summary

The event once again brought together academic, scientific, and educational communities from across Poland, creating a common space for popularizing knowledge about materials and their importance in the modern world.

ODIM 2026 gathered over 3,500 participants – students from over 100 schools – who participated in different educational activities. The event included 170+ lectures, 160+ workshops, and 110+ demonstrations presenting various aspects of Materials Science.

Over 770 people were involved in organization of this year’s edition – faculty from universities and institutes, as well as students and doctoral candidates, who jointly prepared and conducted the events at 22 centers across Poland.

A special feature of ODIM 2026 was the setting of the Polish Record for “Most Origami Rockets Folded in 4 Hours,” which – as in previous years – was an example of an innovative approach to popularizing science through engaging teamwork.
