The main prize for the best doctoral thesis in Materials Science for 2024 was awarded to:
PhD Filip Kuśmierczyk from AGH University of Krakow
Dissertation title: Multicomponent and multilayer polyetherketone-based coatings for metallic biomaterials: fabrication and characterization
Dissertation supervisor: Prof. Tomasz Moskalewicz
Co-supervisor: Dr. Łukasz Cieniek
Distinction in the competition was awarded to:
– PhD Piotr Franciszek Jabłoński, AGH University of Krakow (“Functionalization of NiTi alloy surfaces by chemical treatment and production of chitosan-based coatings with metal nanoparticles”; supervisor: Prof. Karol Kyzioł);
– PhD Dominika Górniewicz, Military University of Technology (“Concept for manufacturing a multi-component TiCoCrFeMn sinter with HEA alloy characteristics strengthened by in-situ generated ceramic-metal precipitates”; supervisor: Prof. Stanisław Jóźwiak, co-supervisor: Prof. Krzysztof Karczewski).
