29th PTM Seminar – report from the event

The 29th PTM Seminar took place on September 21-23, 2025, bringing together 110 participants involved in materials science and engineering. Our seminar was co-organized by the Łukasiewicz – Upper Silesian Institute of Technology. We sincerely thank the organizers for their contribution to this important event.

We have announced the results of the competition for the best doctoral thesis in materials science. This year’s winner was Filip Kuśmierczyk, PhD, Eng., from AGH University of Krakow. His thesis, “Multicomponent and Multilayer Polyetherketone-Based Coatings for Metal Biomaterials: Fabrication and Characterization,” received recognition from the evaluation committee – Honorary Members of the Polish Materials Science Society: Prof. Jan Kusiński, Prof. Tadeusz Wierzchoń and Prof. Paweł Zięba.

During the meeting of the PTM Executive Board, the initiative to introduce a competition for the best master’s thesis in materials science was also approved, aiming to support young scientists in their development. More details coming soon!

We have expanded our Society with 9 new members, what demonstrates the growing interest in our discipline.

Our Seminar provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and establish new contacts. We thank all participants for their active participation and commitment. We now invite you to the next – the 30th anniversary PTM Seminar, organized by the Faculty of Materials Science of the Silesian University of Technology.
